Cold River Vodka
Cold River Vodka was generated from an idea Green Thumb Farms’ President; Don Thibodeau had in order to make the use of the off-grade potatoes profitable. Don grew up listening to stories his father Larry Thibodeau told about making vodka from potatoes during prohibition. As Larry became ill Don and his brother Lee Thibodeau made several trips to Presque Isle, their birthplace and Maine’s potato country. The five hour trips each way allowed time to develop a solid idea and a plan of action.
In 2006 their idea became a reality when Cold River Vodka was launched on November third. Two partners Chris Dowe and Bob Harkins were added along the way to create Maine Distilleries, the company that produces Cold River Vodka.
