Turf and Sod
Sod or turf is grass and the part of the soil beneath it held together by the roots, or a piece of this material.
The term sod may be used to mean turf grown and cut specifically for the establishment of lawns.

Green Thumb Farms experienced its first year of turf sales in 2005. Our unique growing conditions enabled us to provide superior quality sod. Rich soils found in Maine’s Saco River Valley coupled with our commitment to using only the finest seed available resulted in the kind of quality we are committed to providing our customers.
Our mission in the Turf business is to work with customers who expect the very best quality every time. We will work with you to provide the results your customers anticipate. It is our desire to meet your expectations of reliable, consistent customer service.
Our current offerings for turf are Kentucky bluegrass blends, and a Tall Fescue blend (recommended for shade applications, or areas where low inputs of fertilizer or water are required).
We also offer Wild Maine Blueberry sod from Downeast Maine, and a variety of nursery stock grown here in the Saco River Valley.
We hope that you will consider Green Thumb Farms for your turf needs.
