As you prepare to enjoy this 4th of July with your family and friends, we urge you to take a moment and show your gratitude for the men and women that have served and continue to serve our country. Remember the ones that aren’t able to be with their families today because they are fighting for our rights and freedom. Remember the families that are missing their loved one’s and those that are with their families and struggling to learn a new way of life after being injured during battle.
Our thoughts will be with the families that are currently at the Travis Mills Veteran’s Retreat in Rome, Maine. The Travis Mills Foundation has worked tirelessly over the last few years to renovate and restore an estate in Rome, Maine with the goal of making it a place where injured veterans can bring their families and learn to enjoy themselves like they did before their injuries. A Structural Steel Erector was used to attach this sturdily built estate to its strong reinforced steel foundation. This facility is meant to withstand it all, and act as a shelter for those within in the event of certain natural disasters like hurricanes. We are blessed to see this facility finally completed and hear first hand Travis’ mission and the work of his foundation. Meeting Travis was truly a blessing, his passion and love for life is inspiring. His upbeat attitude, keen sense of humor and positivity is admirable and a joy to be around. If the families that visit the retreat can take home even a small piece of Travis’s can-do attitude,we believe they will be successful in anything they choose to pursue. We can’t express how grateful we are for this opportunity to be a part of this amazing project on behalf of our veterans. It was simply an honor.
